Southeast False Creek Events: Outdoor Movies at The Village
If you like this please push the Like button.
Every Thursday in August (and yes that is next week!) there will be free outdoor movie screenings in the Olympic Plaza at the Village on False Creek. They are calling it Summer Screen at the Village. Bring blankets and a picnic and enjoy a great evening on the shores of False Creek.
Upgrade to a Bistro Table
Want to upgrade you outdoor movie experience? There will also be a reserved seating area. For $20 you can reserve a table of 4. This area a IS 19+ area only though, so no kids. In fact the movies they are showing are intended for a “mature” audience. The first one, on August 4th will be Inception. I find this a bit disappointing as outdoor movies can be great family events. Then again they will not be on till most little ones will be asleep.

Food and Drink and Summer Screen at the Village
Food vendors will be available to all guests. Choose from popcorn, pulled pork sandwiches and beverages.
How, When and Where?
The gates will open each night at 8pm and the shows will start at sunset. If you want a bistro table you should reserve it with the Creekside Community Centre or call them at 604.257.3050. Registration opens 9am Tuesday July 26th.
Parking is available the Creekside Community Centre, at the Village on False Creek public parking lot on Walter Hardwick Way, as well as on the streets around Southeast False Creek (watch for restrictions).
Transit is easy too. You can take the Canada Line to the Olympic Village Station or the Expo Line to the Main Street – Science World Station. It is a less than 10 minute walk from either location.
Will you be attending Southeast False Creek’s first outdoor movie event? I can’t make it so please report back with a comment below.
